As the visionary behind Anthony Scotto Restaurants and President of the Scotto Brothers Hospitality, Anthony Scotto personifies the American dream.

Where It All Started...

As the visionary behind Anthony Scotto Restaurants and President of the Scotto Brothers Hospitality, Anthony Scotto personifies the American dream.

After immigrating from Monte di Procida, Italy to the United States in 1961, Anthony Scotto started working as a dishwasher at his uncle's Italian restaurant, Romano's, in Brooklyn, NY.  It is here that Anthony's passion for restaurants came to life.  Driven by his desire to learn and achieve as much as he could, he became a student of the hospitality industry while working second jobs and attending night school to learn English, with the ultimate goal of opening his own restaurant.

His dream became a reality in 1967, when Anthony and his brothers opened Scotto's Pizzeria in Port Washington - a little pizzeria serving quality Italian comfort food. It was a true family enterprise and even the children pitched in, developing a passion for the business early in life.

Expanding their dreams

In 1978, the family portfolio expanded to include the Chateau Briand (Carle Place), then a small catering facility, which they transformed into one of the region's leading venues. Just a few years later came The Steer Barn chain - Anthony's first venture into American steakhouses, featuring a menu of steaks and chops, served up in a warm, rustic interior. In the mid 1980s, the Westbury Manor and Fox Hollow (Woodbury) catering facilities were acquired. Both were highlighted by traditional mansions with grand ballrooms and acres of beautiful gardens with lush landscaping and water features.

In 1994, The Watermill (Smithtown) was acquired as the first venture outside of Scotto Brothers. Anthony partnered with his daughters, Silvana and Monica to purchase this renowned catering facility in Suffolk County.

Blackstone Steakhouse

In 2005, Anthony Scotto and his daughters opened Blackstone Steakhouse in Melville, New York.  It was here that the concept of serving both 45-day prime dry-aged steaks and mouth-watering sushi under one roof was conceived.  Blackstone Steakhouse is the only restaurant on Long Island to be certified by the Official Kobe Beef Association.
